Scheduled Reports Usability Improvements

Dashboard

What's new?

A range of usability improvements have been made to Scheduled Reports across the scheduling form, admin table, and PDF output.

Scheduling Form

  • The Time field is now blank by default and required, replacing the previous automatic selection of 9:00 am

  • Email addresses entered in the Recipients field are now validated against standard email format rules

  • The user/group picker is repositioned so it no longer opens below the form footer

  • Helper text in the Recipients field remains visible while typing

  • Frequency options have been updated to Day, Week, Month, and Year, with correct pluralisation applied

Admin Table (Scheduled Reports Admin permission only)

  • A Next Schedule column now displays when each report is next due to send

  • The Actions menu is now pinned to the right of the table and no longer requires horizontal scrolling to access

  • Schedule names are displayed in blue to indicate they are clickable

PDF Output

  • Avatar photos now populate correctly in leaderboard PDFs

  • Chart legends are now included for grid-style charts

  • PDFs no longer generate a blank second page when multiple filters are selected

  • Filter headings in light theme now render consistently in the correct font

  • Header padding has been corrected so the PDF header no longer appears squished

Why does it matter?

These improvements reduce friction across the Scheduled Reports workflow. Clearer form validation helps prevent configuration errors before a schedule is saved, the updated admin table makes it easier to manage and navigate existing schedules at a glance, and the PDF output improvements ensure that emailed reports are accurate and visually consistent.
